Why is the industry supporting the electronics industry … not so big?

Assessing the current situation and potential of Vietnamese supporting industry enterprises, at the seminar: “Where is the electronics support industry: Where to start?”, Organized by Labor newspaper 22.11, Ms. Do Thi Thuy Huong – Executive Member of Vietnam Electronics Business Association said that the potential of Electronic Supporting Industry in Vietnam is there. However, in Vietnam, in addition to focusing capital, high capital investment in electronics industry also needs to focus on labor.

Currently, the proportion of outsourcing in Vietnam is quite large, while the world countries focus on development research.

“Vietnam has a large labor force, but businesses still have some limitations such as small and medium scale, financial resources. capitalize on development.

Leading multinational enterprises such as Samsung, LG … have strict production management and quality management standards. They strictly regulate from the smallest category. And Vietnamese enterprises need to invest in technology, capital and technology support of the State, “said Do Thi Thuy Huong.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung – General Director of Hung Dung Co., Ltd said that, on the side of businesses, nowadays, there are not many electronic supporting industries, registered businesses and supply products. for the market is also very few.

“Honestly, we have not received much supportive information from the Government, or the assistance information has not yet reached businesses,” Mr. Dung said frankly.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung – General Director of Hung Dung Company Limited.
Analyzing the reasons why Japan and South Korea need 20 years to have a strong development of supporting industry in electronics industry, why in Vietnam it has not been done for 30 years, Assoc. Dr. Nguyen Duc Minh – Deputy Director of Electronics and Telecommunications Institute – Hanoi University of Technology stated that a business wants to participate in the global supply chain of products, the problem is that there must be something new. This must have technological know-how, otherwise forever behind. Enterprises need to innovate.

“In Japan and South Korea they developed because they found the nail product of Electronic Assistive Technology. In the electronics industry in Korea, their nail product is finding and creating Ram. Vietnam. can also learn to develop better, answer the question “why in Vietnam 30 years is still not done”, Mr. Minh said.

Vietnam needs leading enterprises

Talking about the solution for the support of Vietnam’s electronics supporting industries, Do Thi Thuy Huong – Executive Committee member of the Vietnam Electronics Business Association said that – supporting industry enterprises Vietnam needs to link production with high-tech FDI corporations.

“It is true that the close association between domestic and multinational enterprises (leading enterprises) is suitable for Vietnamese enterprises at present, Vietnamese enterprises have jobs on the spot. But in the long run, Vietnamese enterprises Vietnam-branded products are required, manufactured by Vietnam itself.

In fact, in Vietnam, a number of businesses have done this, with long-term cohesion. However, Vietnamese enterprises are only subcontractors, which have not yet become the main contractors. Leading enterprises also expect many Vietnamese enterprises to join them, but because Vietnamese enterprises are still limited, they cannot become main contractors, “Huong said.

Assoc. Dr. Nguyen Duc Minh – Deputy Director of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunications – Hanoi University of Science and Technology, said that in the past 3 years, the electronics industry in Vietnam has become more substantive, Vietnamese enterprises such as Viettel and BKAV. , Vingroup … will be the leading enterprises, at that time, the demand for resources and know-how will be more abundant.
